Baby Blue

| I chased this little Eastern Tailed Blue around for a
while one morning, and it finally took refuge in a clump of thistle. I
was able to sneak the camera into the thistle, and managed to get a few
shots before it flew off. The biggest impediment was the hoard of gnats
that rose up out of the dewy grass and landed around my eyes, nose, and
mouth!
This shot - and most of the latest butterfly and insect macros on this site - was taken with a digital camera, the Nikon CoolPix 990. |
