Imperfect Symmetry

| The snowflakes you see here are all 'wild' specimens - I
caught them them as they were falling from the sky. It is possible to grow snowflakes in artificial conditions - but
I'd have no idea how to do that.
These snow crystals were caught on glass plates, and in that condition they sublime very quickly - they will literally vanish in front of your eyes, going directly from their solid state to a gas. There is something eerie about watching a snowflake just disappear - each time you look through the finder the flake is smaller until there is nothing much left at all. |
