It never got above 20F while I was out shooting - so where did that drop of water at the bottom of this image come from? Those thin microscope slides heat up quickly when held with bare fingers, and I've lost more than a few nice crystals in the seconds it takes to walk from the collection point to the camera. In this case the lower left ends of the crystal have probably been compromised a bit, but most of the flake escaped unscathed.
