Olympia Marble Butterfly

When seen in flight this butterfly looked a lot like a common cabbage white, so I didn't pay much attention to it until an individual paused nearby.   As it happens, the Olympia Marble is a much less common species. Apparently, they image from their chrysalis pink in color, and then fade to white - this one has a trace of pink still in the wings. Shot in Allegan County, May 4, 2006.
