I came upon an area where there were several (maybe a dozen) dead trout floating in the water, just downstream from a small dam. The smell was horrendous - maybe they just exhausted themselves in the quest to get upstream, maybe something else cause the fish kill.   Too bad we don't have bears around to eat them before they go to rot.
