this has been a remarkable year for 12 sided snow flakes,   and this morning's shoot was no exception. This one had a small crystal hanging on - that fraction of a millimeter blows the best depth of field possible at these high magnifications. But I remember when they were rare so still I treasure the 12 pointed crystals. A better one presented itself later in the morning.
