"Arise" is one of two of my photos accepted into "The Changing Americas," an all media national juried exhibit is presented by the Maryland Federation of Art. The exhibit opens August 28 at the MFA Circle Gallery, in Annapolis, MD and runs till September 28. The Circle Gallery is at 18 State Circle, Annapolis, MD, 21401. As it happens, Pam and I will be in Washington D.C. while the show up, so we'll be able to see it in person.

My photo, "Titans," is on display in the exhibit American Landscapes: Scenes From The Americas. This all media national juried exhibit is presented annually by the Maryland Federation of Art and is displayed at their Circle Gallery in Annapolis, Maryland. The show opened August 30, 2023 and runs till September 23. The Circle Gallery is at 18 State Circle, Annapolis, MD, 21401.
I first stumbled into this mighty pair of maple trees on the fringes of the Allegan Forest in 2016… kinda lost track of them in the ensuing years but stumbled back onto that site last fall. Shot on 120 HP5+ in a Ricoh Diacord TLR, with the negative was then scanned and printed.
Two of my photos have been accepted into the 2022 Maryland Federation of Art American Landscapes exhibit. The exhibit will be at the MFA Circle Gallery in Annapolis, Maryland. It runs from August 31 - September 24, 2022. A virtual gallery of the show is available here.
My two pieces are "Hidden" and "Footbridge." Both are film exposures, scanned and printed digitally. "Footbridge" was made using 35mm film in a 6x7 medium format camera... and that's fun!
My photo, Elegant Pair, has been accepted into this years West Michigan Area Show. The exhibit is located in the Kalamazoo Institute of Art and runs from May 21 to September 3 2022.
Three of the photographs I submitted to the Carnegie Center for the Arts 2018 Regional Juried Arts Competition have been accepted by the jurors and will be featured in this year's exhibit. The selected photographs are shown below, all part of the Botanical Studies series.
Based out of Three Rivers, Michigan, the Carnegie Center sponsors this competition for artists living in Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana. It’s open to works in all media. As an annual event with several years of history, this show always brings out excellent work from the area. This year's show opened on January 21 and will close on February 17, 2018.

Just dropped off three pieces at the Battle Creek Art Center for the Signature Artists group show "Beyond Boundaries."
The show will run from June 4-24 at the Art Center of Battle Creek, 265 E Emmett St, Battle Creek, MI 49017. Artists' Reception will this Sunday, June 4, from 2-4PM.
I interpreted "boundaries" as the technical things that you do to make photographs - aperture, shutter speed, etc. - so to get beyond them I broke out the Holgas which don't let you do much with settings. And then I tried to take photos that included boundaries - like the a ditch or the fog lines on a highway. Shot in March / early April.

Preparations for the 2016 Signature Gallery are underway! The gallery will open Saturday, November 26 with the Artist Reception on Sunday, November 26 from noon to 5 PM. We are at the same great location as last year - 4602 West Main Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49006.
This year I will be fully participating in the gallery and will have a large selection of framed prints, matted prints and note cards.

This year's exhibit will run from August 12 through September 10, 2016 at the MFA Circle Gallery, 18 State Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401. The juror this year is Liza Key Strelka, Manager of Exhibitions at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC.
